Packaging Supplies

No shipping department can operate efficiently without the proper packaging supplies. There are a variety of materials that can fall under the category “packaging supplies” but there are a few basic items that are common to nearly every shipping department. The most important item is the box.

The great majority of items that are shipped from a company to a consumer are done so inside a box, making them one of the essential packaging supplies. Cardboard boxes can be found in a wide array of shapes and sizes, so finding the appropriate boxes for your company shouldn’t be too difficult. Many box suppliers can even have custom sized boxes made for uniquely shaped items.

Cushioning materials are also essential packaging supplies for any shipping department. Bubble wrap and Styrofoam peanuts are probably the most common, but there are other available materials as well. For heavy boxes, shrink wrap is often used to maintain the packages physical integrity.
