Plastic Packaging
Plastic packaging materials are used in nearly every industry. Whether it’s a plastic container, or the shrink wrapping used for shipping large shipments, plastic is ubiquitous. The cost and flexibility of plastic make it an ideal material for a variety of packaging applications.
Clamshells and other thermoform plastic packaging containers are commonly used for everything from children’s toys to kitchen utensils. Thermoforming uses heat to form a plastic sheet or panel around a specific shape. It is most common for disposable packaging applications.
Plastic packaging is also used when the manufacturer wants the product to be readily visible to the consumer. Plastic boxes and tubes are the most common way to do this, but custom designed packages are also common. Many times the name of the product and the manufacturer can be printed directly on the plastic material, making it easy to identify.
